22 - Working in Christ

In every aspect of human life God’s plan is one of order, authority, and submission, and these pillars are the bedrock of labor relations, between the worker and his master. To avoid chaos and anarchy, and to foster production and fruitfulness, someone must lead, and someone must follow. In other words, there has to be some semblance of submission to order and authority in the workplace or otherwise little will get done. In Ephesians 6:5-8, Paul transitions out of the home and to the workplace. He tells us that slaves (or employees) are to submit to their masters (or employers). In v.9, he concludes by saying that masters (or employers) are to submit to their slaves (or employees).
