21 - Parenting in Christ

Paul instructs Ephesians 5:22-24 that wives are to lead lives of submission in the home, submitting to their husbands as their spiritual heads. In Ephesians 5:25-33, he teaches that husbands are to submit to their wives through their love for them. In Ephesians 6:1-4, the apostle tells his readers that children are also to submit to their parents (by obeying them) just as parents are to submit to their children (by not exasperating them). It seems wherever we turn in Scripture, the people of God are called on to submit to each other. When we lead lives of submission in the home—parents are brought much happiness, children are brought much blessing, and God is brough much honor.
