105 - The Olivet Prayer
Luke 22:39–46 describes Jesus praying on the Mount of Olives shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. In deep anguish, Jesus asks His disciples to pray so they will not fall into temptation, then withdraws from them and prays to His Father, honestly expressing the weight of what lies ahead while ultimately surrendering to God’s will: “Not my will, but yours, be done.” An angel strengthens Him, yet His agony remains so intense that His sweat becomes like drops of blood. When He returns to His disciples, He finds them sleeping from sorrow and urges them again to get up and pray.
