PARK & SPARK

Where does ministry begin on Sunday morning at BridgeWay Christian Church? You might be surprised to learn that it doesn't start in the church sanctuary but in the parking lot of all places! Each Sunday, as hurried worshippers arrive onsite, the parking lot attendants, consisting of volunteers within the congregation, serve as the front line of interaction (along with the Greeting Ministry) in making a positive impression on our visitors, attendees, and members alike.

WHAT & WHY

As a sub-component of the Board of Trustees Ministry, the Parking Lot Ministry at BCC exists primarily to make the Sunday morning service a safer and more convenient place for worship and fellowship. Irrespective of snow, rain, heat, or even in the dark of night, our parking lot attendants work faithfully and diligently to ensure the walkways and vehicles are safe and easily accessible at all times. Their duties include:

  • Managing the flow of vehicle traffic by ushering cars into spaces in a safe and feasible manner.
  • Protecting the safety of our pedestrians through personal escort, if necessary.
  • Enforcing the regulations for disability parking by ensuring that the handicapped spaces are occupied by the properly-licensed vehicles.
  • Providing easy access from the parking lot to the main entry of the building (to include shoveling and salting potentially icy areas in the wintertime).
  • Watching the surroundings and reporting any suspicious behavior.
  • Identifying potential problem areas in the parking and ensuring the premises are clean and presentable every Sunday.
  • Welcoming visitors, attendees, and members alike with a warm, friendly greeting.

WILL YOU SERVE?

Are you available to be at church by 9:30 AM on Sundays to set up parking cones and to offer a hearty “Good morning” and a healthy handshake to visitor and attendee alike? Are you willing to be outside in potentially inclement weather to usher vehicles to their respective parking space?  If so, then we invite you to join our team of parking attendants at BCC!  If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please contact Lenny Santosuosso
